Lake Catholic Graduates Set Scholarship Record
Mentor, Ohio – June 1, 2009 – Lake Catholic announced today that the 2009 graduating class of 171 students has been awarded $9,097,416 in college scholarships, a new record for any graduating class at Lake Catholic. These scholarships are based on academics, standardized test scores on college placement tests, and community service. The school also announced today that 100% of the graduates will continue their education in the fall at 39 different institutions across the region, including Miami University of Ohio, Loyola University Chicago, Elon University, John Carroll University, and Case Western Reserve University. Intended majors include accounting, pre-law, pre-medicine, education, art, engineering, music, business, finance, and theater. The Class of 2009 graduated on Sunday, May 31 at the Mentor Fine Arts Center.
“We could not be more excited for these new graduates. The have worked hard and deserve this level of support for their college studies. On average, the amount of scholarship money they received actually exceeds the cost of their education at Lake Catholic, evidence that their sacrifices and dedication were worth the effort,” stated Lake Catholic President Sal Miroglotta.
