  • Cardinal Credit Union Grows Partnership Through Educational Display Boards

    Cardinal Credit Union has been a part of the Mentor community for more than half a century – and for nearly a decade, they’ve been supporting the financial literacy of Lake Catholic students. Now, Cardinal is adding to their partnership with Lake, underwriting the purchase and installation of unique educational display boards, located in the school’s main hallway.
  • Jeff Fenner ’84 Takes the Reins of Alumni Association

    If enthusiasm alone could make every Lake Catholic alum magically appear on campus, Jeff Fenner might be the guy to do it. As the new president of the Lake Catholic Alumni Association, he is determined to get the word out that it’s a new day for the group — and more specifically, that alums are encouraged to come back and join in.

  • Valedictorian Tessa Newman to Continue Her Catholic Education at the University of Notre Dame

    An exceptional scholar, senior class valedictorian Tessa Newman is planning to attend the University of Notre Dame in the fall, where she’ll study business analytics. Throughout her four years at Lake, she’s been involved in a variety of activities – from the performing arts to athletics to student council. While there’s no doubt she’s made her mark on Lake Catholic, here’s how the school has left its mark on her life:
  • Lake Catholic Students Travel to Ecuador

    Our students were in Ecuador last week for an Immersion Trip. They spent one of the afternoons visiting a women and children’s shelter for those escaping domestic violence.They enjoyed making soy cookies and popcorn with the women and playing with the children on the swings and slides.
  • Time is Running Out!

    We are getting closer to reaching our goal of $25,000, but still need your help to complete our challenge grant goal!
    We have been challenged to raise $25,000 by a wonderful group of alumni, parents and friends. They have committed to donate $25,000 to Lake Catholic High School’s Annual Fund Campaign, but ONLY if our supporters match their pledge and contribute $25,000 as well by June 30th. Our generous supporters have already donated over $17,500 – and we can’t thank you enough for your generosity!
  • Fr. Lukas Laniauskas ’02 Delivers Powerful End-of-Year Message at Baccalaureate Mass

    Seventeen years after he received the Christian Leadership Award at Lake Catholic’s 2002 baccalaureate mass, Fr. Lukas Laniauskas returned home to Cougar Country to celebrate the Class of 2019’s traditional pre-graduation liturgy, which took place at St. John Vianney on the evening of May 21.
  • Charles P. Fuller named Principal at Lake Catholic High School

    Today Dr. Frank O’Linn, the Diocese of Cleveland’s Superintendent of Schools, will announce the appointment of Mr. Charley Fuller as the next Principal of Lake Catholic High School.
  • Registration for Alumni Golf Classic Now Open

    The Alumni Association of Lake Catholic hosts the Alumni Golf Classic each year benefiting our Alumni Scholarship fund which assists legacy students with financial assistance.   • Cheerleading Evaluations Clinic & Audition Dates Announced

    The Cougar Cheerleaders lead by example, academically, athletically, and spiritually. They support the boys and girls athletic teams, represent Lake Catholic High School in several local events and participate in multiple community service activities.   • Cougars Present Speeches for Mentor Rotary Club Contest

    Today Melina Gabele (‘19)  and Mario Slogar (‘20) presented speeches for the Mentor Rotary Club’s speech contest.  Students were challenged to apply the Rotary International’s 4 Way Test to defend their point of view on a current ethical issue.  Melina spoke about the importance of vaccination and Mario spoke about privacy vs. national security.  Both students did an excellent job thanks to the guidance of English teacher Laura Tyler.  Great job Melina and Mario!
  • LC Rugby Starts Season Off With 38-0 Win Over Mentor

    Lake Catholic Rugby started off the season with a 38-0 divisional win over Mentor High School. View more pictures from the News Herald. Eight new players took the field in the win. Justin Pike took Man of the Match with 3 tries. Niko Tomic added 4 or 5 successful conversion kicks. Great job Cougars!
