To commemorate the 18th anniversary of September 11th, Lake Catholic students and faculty walked down Bellflower Rd. to St. John Vianney to honor the lives of those lost on September 11th, 2001 and to thank our local first responders, law enforcement, and those serving in the military. Many alumni, parents, and friends joined the Cougar community to celebrate Mass at St. John Vianney Church. The LC community prayed over our guests, and celebrated the liturgy with prayer, music and a special presentation of LC community members who are serving our communities and country to assure our safety on a daily basis. Parochial vicar Fr. Peter Morris led a group blessing outside of the church of the area police and fire vehicles following mass.

Edward Jividen, Retired Member of the Painesville Fire Department attended the mass with his two sons, Lake Catholic graduates Devon Jividen ’10, a police officer in Warren, Ohio and Derek Jividen, a police officer in Maple Heights, Ohio, said, “Thank you for allowing my sons and I to be part of a wonderful service. The Lake Catholic Students were ever so polite and considerate, many of them coming up to us and thanking us.”

God bless the U.S.A., and special thanks to all of our Cougar alumni and friends who have served (or currently serve) our country.
