Today marks the beginning of Lake Catholic’s 50th Anniversary year! While we are not able to meet in person to fully celebrate all that makes our Cougar community so special at this time, we want to celebrate each of our graduating classes virtually throughout the year.
Each Wednesday, Lake Catholic will share on Facebook class memories from their senior year or remembrances of special events/people that were important to that graduating class. The photos shared are just a snapshot of memories made throughout a classes’ four years at Lake Catholic. We hope you will share other memories and photos on the post to make the walk down memory lane at LC special for everyone!
Today, we are highlighting the Class of 1974 on Facebook. In September of 1970, Lake Catholic opened for classes in temporary quarters in seven classrooms at Shore Junior High School. The first class of 221 freshmen moved into the new Lake Catholic building that was only 25% finished on March 1, 1971. These early challenges did not stop the Class of 1974 from making the most of their first year of high school. This class continued to be the pioneers of Catholic education in Lake County and began to form many of the traditions that are still near and dear to everyone’s hearts 50 years later. Congratulations to Lake Catholic High School’s Class of 1974! Thank you for paving the way for 10,000+ Cougar Alumni!
