Navigating Your Eighth Grade Year

What to expect when applying for high school

Fall

Before You Apply

Visit Lake Catholic

• Plan to attend an Open House at Lake Catholic
  • October 26 from 1230p - 230p
  • March 25, 2026 from 5p–7p
• Inquire about our Cougar Shadow Program
  • Shadow season begins in mid-September and runs through the end of December. Spring shadowing will open in March.
• Schedule a family tour.

Take your ADMISSIONS TEST

• 8th Graders - Sign up and take your admissions test offered at Lake Catholic High School

Apply for Financial Aid

• Have your parents complete the FACTS application online for tuition assistance, starting in October

Winter

The Application Process

• Apply to high school
  • Diocesan elementary schools will guide you through the process
  • Non-diocesan application information can be found online and completed starting at the conclusion of your first semester of school
    • Complete all required documents before January 30

• High School Selection Week for Catholic Elementary School: January 5-12, 2026
• First Round Acceptance Mailing: February 11, 2026

Spring

High School Registration

• Upon acceptance schedule your Registration appointment at Lake Catholic
  • Bring required forms to registration
  • Celebrate! You’re officially a Cougar!

* Students who apply after January 30 will be reviewed for acceptance and scheduled for registration on a rolling basis.
