The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service and character.

Requirements

Cumulative GPA of 3.45 or higher
40 service hours completed and submitted to Campus Ministry

Application process

Sophomores and Juniors may apply 
Two recommendations from teachers/adult leaders are required 
Applicant must write an essay responding to given prompt
Application materials will be available in March

Responsibilities/commitments

Members will be required to participate in four service activities sponsored by the NHS. Service activities will be offered monthly on late start Mondays and during the school day.

The NHS Induction Ceremony will be held April 28th, 2023 at 815a in the auditorium. New inductees, parents and guests are invited to attend.

Tuesday Jan. 17 - MLK Dollar Dress Down Day - proceeds benefit NHS service projects
Monday January 30 - 8-9a - NHS Service Project - Cafeteria (Making blankets for poor children)
March 1 - NHS applications available
March 27 - NHS service project - 8am-9am Cafeteria (making Easter baskets for poor children)
March 31 - NHS applications due
Friday April 28 - 815-9a - NHS Induction - auditorium. Reception following.
