Founded in 1970, Lake Catholic High School is a coeducational comprehensive high school with a college preparatory emphasis. Lake Catholic is committed to educating young men and women of diverse means and ability throughout Northeast Ohio. With a population of roughly 500 students in grades nine through twelve, Lake Catholic High School emphasizes spiritual growth in the Catholic Faith as students learn, work, and serve.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Communicates with parents, students, staff, etc. in person, by telephone or in writing for the purpose of providing information on a variety of attendance and/or discipline issues and meeting school and state absence notification requirements.
  • Coordinates a variety of projects and/or activities (e.g. locker assignments, daily attendance lists, depositing funds collected at the site, etc.) for the purpose of meeting requirements for school operation.
  • Ensures accuracy of attendance records, including verification of truancies for the purpose of complying with State laws governing attendance accounting.
  • Maintains a variety of attendance records, schedules, and files (manual and computer) (e.g. contact and telephone logs, cleared attendance, school calendars, etc.) for the purpose of providing reliable information in compliance with school policies.
  • Maintains students' records relating to discipline and discipline processes for the purpose of documenting events, and adhering to educational policies and procedures.
  • Prepares a variety of reports and written materials (e.g. re-admit passes, standardized and special attendance reports, letters to parents, etc.) for the purpose of conveying information regarding school activities and procedures.
  • Processes documents and materials (e.g. attendance records, student placement, disciplinary and/or suspension notices, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of individuals (e.g. staff, parents, probation officers, other schools, and/or students, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or directions as may be required.
  • Supports Principal and Deans and other administrative personnel for the purpose of assisting with their administrative functions.
  • Make contact with parent/guardian within 2 hours of the start of the school day for any student that is absent without an excuse or parent contact.
  • Work with the Athletic Department ensuring that student athletes are adhering to the policies in place for attendance and notify if tardiness become excessive for athletes during their sport season.
  • Establishes, maintains and assures proper use of confidential files including student and personnel records.
  • Assists with substitutes in order to assure adequate coverage for school.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal.
COORDINATE FIELD TRIPS
  • Maintain and monitor roster for field trip and make sure it is entered the day of the trip
  • Coordinate with the school nurse to be sure students that need daily medications will have access to them on the trip
  • Ensure that transportation is coordinated.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma
  • Experience working in a professional office setting.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook) and SIS database.
  • Able to operate personal computer, laptop computer, peripheral computer equipment, photocopier, fax machine, and other office equipment with a high degree of skill.
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational skills; able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-starter; able to work independently.
  • Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. to shoulder height occasionally.

Essential Job Functions
  • As a member of the school faculty, the mathematics instructor will be responsible for teaching 9th-12th grade mathematics classes as assigned by the principal.
  • Implement the curriculum in accordance with the standards set forth by the Diocese of Cleveland and the Ohio Department of Education.
  • Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  • Foster a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and critical thinking.
  • Utilize various teaching methodologies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary approaches to teaching history.
  • Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and other events throughout the year.
  • Maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Provide outstanding and engaging instruction to students.
  • Monitor students and complete other school-related responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
  • Maintain accurate records and effectively communicate progress with students, parents, and school administrators.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (master’s preferred but not required).
  • 7-12 integrated mathematics/mathematics teaching certificate through the Ohio Department of Education.
  • Strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese of Cleveland and Catholic Church.
  • Prior experience teaching similarly aged students is preferred, but not required.
  • Candidate must also be able to pass FBI and BCI background checks and complete the Diocese of Cleveland VIRTUS program.

  • Prior experience teaching similarly aged students is preferred, but not required.
  • All candidates must either hold a current Ohio teaching license or have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and a willingness to obtain the required teaching certification.
  • Candidate must also be able to pass FBI and BCI background checks and complete the Diocese of Cleveland VIRTUS program.

  • Have considerable knowledge of Catholic theology and a passion for teaching young people.
  • Develop and implement the curriculum in accordance with the standards set forth by the Diocese of Cleveland and the Ohio Department of Education.
  • Maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Provide outstanding and engaging instruction to students.
  • Monitor students and complete other school-related responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
  • Maintain accurate records and effectively communicate progress with students, parents, and school administrators.

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates will be practicing Catholics with a good understanding of the Catholic faith and a strong commitment to Church teachings who have a strong interest in educating young people in the history and practices of the Catholic Church.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (master’s preferred but not required).
  • Theology Certification through the Cleveland Catholic Diocese/OCE
  • Strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese of Cleveland and Catholic Church.
  • Prior experience teaching similarly aged students is preferred, but not required.
  • All candidates must either hold a current Ohio teaching license or have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and a willingness to obtain the required teaching certification.
  • Candidate must also be able to pass FBI and BCI background checks and complete the Diocese of Cleveland VIRTUS program.
