Founded in 1970, Lake Catholic High School is a coeducational comprehensive high school with a college preparatory emphasis. Due to significant growth in enrollment, we are adding new teaching positions for the upcoming school year to support our expanding student body. Lake Catholic is committed to educating young men and women of diverse means and ability throughout Northeast Ohio. Essential Job Functions

  • Monitoring grades and academic progress for all students, and prescribing interventions as needed and in collaboration with teachers, counselors, and families.
  • Coordinating with intervention specialists and counselors to support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Attending IEP, Service Plan, and Accommodation Plan meetings, ensuring compliance and best practices for student success.
  • Facilitating the coordination of support services for students, including accommodation plans and tutoring.
  • Lead AIT with counselors to address student academic issues, including creating intervention plans for struggling students.
  • Serving as the testing coordinator, managing standardized assessments, and ensuring smooth implementation.
  • Analyzing standardized and classroom-level assessment data and facilitating the review of these data with Instructional Leaders - Principal, Assistant Principal for Academics, and Department Chairs.
  • Support the Principal and Assistant Principal in the observation and evaluation of teachers, providing feedback for continued growth and improvement.
  • Support the development and coordination of instructional resources and professional development opportunities for faculty.
  • Tracking summer school progress to ensure students remain on track for graduation while also designing and implementing proactive support systems to ensure student academic success during the school year.
  • Collaborate with the Principal and Assistant Principal to ensure alignment and support in areas such as student assessment, progress tracking, and teacher development.
  • Assisting the Athletic Director with student-athlete eligibility and academic success.
  • Assist in academic planning, including course offerings, scheduling, and staffing.

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates will be practicing Catholics with a good understanding of the Catholic faith and a strong commitment to Church teachings who have a strong interest in educating young people in the history and practices of the Catholic Church.
  • Master’s degree in Administration or Education or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching or school administration with a focus on academic programming and student support.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with teachers, students, and families.
  • Experience collaborating with school counselors or support staff to address academic challenges.
  • Knowledge of current best practices in curriculum development, instructional methods, and academic intervention strategies.

  • As a member of the school faculty, the band and choir instructor will be responsible for teaching 9th-12th grade band and choir classes as assigned by the principal.
  • Implement the curriculum in accordance with the standards set forth by the Diocese of Cleveland and the Ohio Department of Education.
  • Foster a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and critical thinking.
  • Utilize various teaching methodologies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary approaches to teaching music.
  • Teach and manage all aspects of the band program, including marching band, concert band, and jazz band.
  • Teach and manage all aspects of the choral program, including concert choir and music ministry.
  • Teach music theory and potentially additional music electives as assigned.
  • Select and prepare appropriate music for performances.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all band and choir equipment, uniforms, and related materials.
  • Coordinate the maintenance, repair, and storage of all equipment and uniforms.
  • Serve as an ambassador and host for local middle school band programs and performances.
  • Support and assist the theater program as needed under the direction of the theater director.
  • Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and other events throughout the year.
  • Maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Provide outstanding and engaging instruction to students.
  • Monitor student progress and complete other school-related responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
  • Maintain accurate records and effectively communicate progress with students, parents, and school administrators.

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (master’s preferred but not required).
  • Music PreK-12 license through the Ohio Department of Education preferred, or the ability to obtain a valid Ohio teaching certificate.
  • Strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese of Cleveland and Catholic Church.
  • Prior experience teaching similarly aged students is preferred, but not required.
  • All candidates must either hold a current Ohio teaching license or have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and a willingness to obtain the required teaching certification.
  • Candidate must also be able to pass FBI and BCI background checks and complete the Diocese of Cleveland VIRTUS program.

  • Ability to acquire Computer Science Teaching License
  • Master’s degree in related field or relevant career experience preferred.

  • Prior experience teaching high school or college aged students is preferred.

  • As a member of the school faculty, the social studies instructor will be responsible for teaching 9th-12th grade social studies classes as assigned by the principal. 
  • Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences.
  • Prepare lesson plans that engage, stimulate and instruct students.
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflects accommodation for individual needs of students assigned.
  • Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  • Use technologies in the teaching/learning process. 
  • Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal testing. 
  • Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school. 
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning. 
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom and administer discipline according to school policies, regulations, and IEP. 
  • Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university 
  • Valid Ohio teaching certificate 
  • Expertise in the field of history
  • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction  
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior 
  • Strong communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills
  • Prior high school teaching experience is preferred
  • The position requires VIRTUS certification and FBI/BCI background check

Qualifications

Athletics

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist the Athletic Director in providing the leadership and supervision necessary to ensure that all athletic personnel follow department policies and procedures and conform to the school, league, and OHSAA regulations.
  • Help develop short-term and long-term goals for the athletic department.
  • Assist the Athletic Director in the evaluation of coaches and sports programs.
  • Provide for management of home contests as designated by the Athletic Director.
  • Provide for transporting all athletes, teams, and coaches to athletic events. Assign school vehicles and contact buses when necessary.
  • Provide for scheduling awards banquets for each sport in conjunction with head coaches.
  • Assist in preparation for the Open House and represent the Athletic Department at the Open House.
  • Schedule, organize, and supervise sports information night and presentation to be published on Final Forms with the assistance of the Athletic Director.
  • Schedule sports designated by the Athletic Director in conjunction with the head coaches.
  • Enforce eligibility requirements as determined by the Lake Catholic handbook and OHSAA rules.
  • Verify grades of student-athletes and follow up as necessary.
  • Assist the Athletic Director in preparing and evaluating the department budget in consultation with coaches and trainer.
  • Work with coaches to maintain an inventory of all equipment and uniforms.
  • Schedule seasonal picture days and coordinate with teams, coaches, and photographers.
  • Assist the Athletic Director in holding seasonal meetings with the coaches to review/educate athletic policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that appropriate programs are in place for the regular upkeep/maintenance of athletic facilities in coordination with the maintenance department and the Athletic Director.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with sports media representatives.
  • Promote a program of exemplary conduct and sportsmanship on the part of all athletes and coaches.
  • Provides for the seasonal update and arrangement of the trophy cases. Also ensure the update of all displayed banners and records boards.
  • Coordinates signing days for student-athletes and contacts coaches, families, media, staff, and faculty.
  • Helps maintain Final Forms, Dragonfly, the Lake Catholic website, and all athletic social media programs.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Athletic Director.

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates will be practicing Catholics with a good understanding of the Catholic faith and a strong commitment to Church teachings who have a strong interest in educating young people in the history and practices of the Catholic Church.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Administration, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in athletic administration, coaching, or a similar leadership role.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of state athletic association rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, resolve conflicts, and build consensus.
  • Commitment to Catholic values and the mission of Catholic education.
